For Pet’s Sake was established in 1995 by Rosanne Hayes, a Registered Nurse and devoted animal lover, as an option for pets to be cared for at home. Her care-giving experience as a Nurse of over 22 years provides a strong background for providing the highest quality of in-home pet care. For Pet’s Sake is a husband (Tom Hayes) and wife team serving only Mt. Pleasant, Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms and Daniel Island. In 2006 we opened our grooming salon, providing professional, all-breed dog and cat grooming in a relaxed atmosphere. Our groomers have over 20 years experience each. Our primary focus is the safety and welfare of the animals.
Rosanne and Tom are passionate about saving cats and have created "Almost Home Feline Refuge". Almost Home is a non-profit, no kill organization whose mission is to rescue and provide shelter for feral, stray and abandoned cats as a public benefit. We have been financially responsible for the operation for the past 10 years, with all expenses coming out of our pockets. We are a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization with an established Board of Directors. Almost Home furnishes medical attention and treatment immediately to all rescues entering the refuge, as well as a loving, safe, healthy, clean and cageless environment in which to live. We are now at full capacity, but are working on plans to expand the facility as there are still so many cats that need to be saved.
We desperately need and depend upon donations so that we may continue our important work of providing a sanctuary for abandoned and stray cats.
